And among His signs is that He sends winds heralding glad tidings, to make you taste His mercy, and so that the ships may sail by His command, and so that you may seek His munificence, and for you to give thanks.

और उसकी निशानियों से है कि हवाएं भेजता है मुज़्दा सुनाती और इसलिए कि तुम्हे अपनी रेहमत का ज़ायका दे और इसलिए कि कश्ती उसके हुक्म से चले और इसलिए कि उसका फज़्ल तलाश करो और इसलिए कि तुम हुक्म मानो

And indeed We sent several Noble Messengers before you, to their nations – so they came to them with clear signs - We therefore took revenge from the guilty; and it is incumbent upon Our mercy, to help the Muslims.

और बेशक हमने तुमसे पहले कितने रसूल उनकी क़ौम की तरफ भेजे तो वो उनके पास खुली निशानियां लाये फिर हमने मुजरिमों से बदला लिया और हमारे ज़िम्मा-ऐ-करम पर है मुसलमानो की मदद फरमाना

It is Allah Who sends the winds raising the clouds - therefore spreads them in the sky as He wills and shatters them – so you see the rain dropping from inside it; so when He delivers it upon whomever He wills among His bondmen, thereupon they rejoice.

अल्लाह है कि भेजता है हवाएं कि उभारती हैं बादल फिर उसे फैला देता है आसमान में जैसा चाहे और उसे पारह-पारह करता है तो तू देखे कि उसके बीच में से मेंह निकल रहा है फिर जब उसे पहुँचाता है अपने बंदो में जिसकी तरफ चाहे जब ही वो ख़ुशियाँ मनाते हैं

Although they had lost hope before it was sent down upon them.

अगरचे उसके उतारने से पहले आस तोड़े हुए थे

Therefore observe the result of Allah’s mercy, how He revives the earth after its death; He will indeed resurrect the dead; and He is Able to do all things.

तो अल्लाह की रहमत के असर देखो क्यों कर ज़मीन को जिलाता है उसके मरे पीछे, बेशक वो मुर्दों को ज़िंदा करेगा और वो सब कुछ कर सकता है

And if We send a wind and they see their fields yellow because of it, then indeed they would become ungrateful after it.

और अगर हम कोई हवा भेजें जिससे वो खेती को ज़र्द देखें तो ज़रूर उसके बाद ना-शुक्रि करने लगें

For you do not make the dead hear nor make the deaf hear the call when they flee, turning back. (The disbelievers are referred to as dead and deaf.)

इसलिए कि तुम मुर्दों को नहीं सुनाते और न बहरों को पुकारना सुनाओ जब वो पीठ देकर फिरें

Nor do you guide the blind out of their error; you only make those hear who believe in Our signs, so they have submitted. (The disbelievers are referred to as blind.)

और न तुम अंधों को उनकी गुमराही से राह पर लाओ, तो तुम उसी को सुनाते हो जो हमारी आयतों पर ईमान लाये तो वो गर्दन रखे हुए हैं

It is Allah Who created you weak, then after weakness gave you strength, then after strength gave you weakness and old age; He creates whatever He wills; and only He is the All Knowing, the Able.

अल्लाह है जिसने तुम्हे इब्तिदा में कमज़ोर बनाया फिर तुम्हे ना-तवानी से ताक़त बख्शी फिर क़ुव्वत के बाद कमज़ोरी और बुढ़ापा दिया, बनाता है जो चाहे और वही इल्म व क़ुदरत वाला है

And when the Day of Resurrection is established, the guilty will swear that they did not stay except for an hour; this is how they keep straying.

और जिस दिन क़यामत क़ायम होगी मुजरिम क़सम खायेंगे कि न रहे थे मगर एक घड़ी, वो ऐसे ही औंधे जाते हैं

And said those who received knowledge and faith, “You have indeed stayed in the decree of Allah until the Day of Restoration; so this is the Day of Restoration, but you did not know.

और बोले वो जिनको इल्म और ईमान मिला बेशक तुम रहे अल्लाह के लिखे हुए में उठने के दिन तक तो ये है वो दिन उठने का लेकिन तुम न जानते थे

So on that day the unjust will not benefit from their excuses, nor will anyone ask them for compensation.

तो उस दिन ज़ालिमों को नफा न देगी उनकी मअज़रत और न उनसे कोई राज़ी करना मांगे

And indeed We have illustrated all kinds of examples in this Qur’an for mankind; and indeed if you bring a sign to them, the disbelievers will say, “You are upon nothing but falsehood.

और बेशक हमने लोगों के लिए इस क़ुरआन में हर क़िस्म की मिसाल बयान फ़रमाई, और अगर तुम उनके पास कोई निशानी लाओ तो ज़रूर काफिर कहेंगे तुम तो नहीं मगर बातिल पर

This is how Allah sets seal upon the hearts of the ignorant.

यूँही मोहर कर देता है अल्लाह जाहिलों के दिलों पर

Therefore patiently endure, indeed the promise of Allah is true; and may not those who do not have faith make you impatient.

तो सब्र करो बेशक अल्लाह का वादा सच्चा है और तुम्हे सुबुक (तेश में) न करदें वो जो यक़ीन नहीं रखते

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

अल्लाह के नाम से शुरू जो बहुत मेहरबान रहमत वाला

Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.)

अलिफ़-लाम-मीम (वो अरबी लफ़्ज़ जिनके म’अनी सिर्फ अल्लाह जानता है और वो जिनको अल्लाह चाहे)

Guidance and mercy for the righteous.

हिदायत और रहमत है नेकों के लिए

Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter.

वो जो नमाज़ क़ायम रखें और ज़कात दें और आख़िरत पर यक़ीन लाएं

It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful.

वही अपने रब की हिदायत पर हैं और उन्ही का काम बना

And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment.

और कुछ लोग खेल की बातें खरीदते हैं कि अल्लाह की राह से बेहका दें बे-समझे और उसे हंसी बनालें, उनके लिए ज़िल्लत का अज़ाब है

And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them - as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment.

और जब उस पर हमारी आयतें पढ़ी जाएँ तो तकब्बुर करता हुआ फिरे जैसे उन्हें सुना ही नहीं जैसे उसके कानो में टेंट है तो उसे दर्दनाक अज़ाब का मुज़्दा दो

Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity.

बेशक जो ईमान लाये और अच्छे काम किये उनके लिए चैन के बाग़ हैं

In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise.

हमेशा उनमें रहेंगे, अल्लाह का वादा है सच्चा, और वही इज़्ज़त व हिकमत वाला है

He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it.

उसने आसमान बनाये बे-ऐसे सुतूनों के जो तुम्हे नज़र आयें और ज़मीन में डाले लंगर कि तुम्हे लेकर न कांपे और उसमें हर क़िस्म के जानवर फैलाये, और हमने आसमान से पानी उतारा तो ज़मीन में हर नफ़ीस जोड़ा उगाया

Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error.

ये तो अल्लाह का बनाया हुआ है मुझे वो दिखाओ जो उसके सिवा औरों ने बनाया, बल्कि ज़ालिम खुली गुमराही में हैं

And indeed We bestowed wisdom to Luqman (saying) that, “Be grateful to Allah”; and whoever is grateful, is grateful for his own good; and whoever is ungrateful – then indeed Allah is the Absolute, the Most Praiseworthy.

और बेशक हमने लुक़मान को हिकमत अता फ़रमाई कि अल्लाह का शुक्र कर, और जो शुक्र करे वो अपने भले को शुक्र करता है और जो ना-शुक्रि करे तो बेशक अल्लाह बे-परवाह है सब खूबियों सराहा

And remember when Luqman said to his son, and he used to advise him, “O my son! Never ascribe anything as a partner to Allah; indeed ascribing partners to Him is a tremendous injustice.

और याद करो जब लुक़मान ने अपने बेटे से कहा और वो नसीहत करता था ऐ मेरे बेटे अल्लाह का किसी को शरीक न करना, बेशक शिर्क बड़ा ज़ुल्म है

And We ordained upon man concerning his parents; his mother bore him enduring weakness upon weakness, and his suckling is up to two years – therefore be thankful to Me and to your parents; finally towards Me is the return.

और हमने आदमी को उसके माँ-बाप के बारे में ताकीद फ़रमाई उसकी माँ ने उसे पेट में रखा कमज़ोरी पर कमज़ोरी झेलती हुई और उसका दूध छूटना दो बरस में है ये कि हक़ मान मेरा और अपने माँ-बाप का, आखिर मुझी तक आना है
