तो भला बताओ तो वो आग जो तुम रोशन करते हो

It is you who grew its tree, or is it We Who create?

क्या तुमने उसका पेड़ पैदा किया या हम हैं पैदा करने वाले

We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle.

हमने उसे जहन्नम की यादगार बनाया और जंगल में मुसाफिरों का फायदा

Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest.

तो ऐ महबूब तुम पाकी बोलो अपने अज़मत वाले रब के नाम की

So I swear by the setting places of the stars.

तो मुझे कसम हैं उन जगहों की जहाँ तारे डूबते हैं

And that is indeed a tremendous oath, if you understand.

और तुम समझो ये बड़ी कसम है

This is indeed the noble Qur’an.

बेशक ये इज़्ज़त वाला कुर’आन है

Kept in a secure Book.

महफूज़ नविश्ता में

Tafseer Tinymce

None may touch it, except with ablution.

इसे न छुएं मगर बा-वुज़ू

Sent down by the Lord Of The Creation.

उतारा हुआ है सारे जहांन के रब का

So is this the matter regarding which you laze?

तो किया इस बात में तुम सुस्ती करते हो

And you make its denial your share?

और अपना हिस्सा ये रखते हो कि झुटलाते हो

So why was it not, when the soul reaches up to the throat, -

फिर क्यों न हो कि जब जान गले तक पहुंचे

Whereas you watch at that moment!

और तुम उस वक़्त देख रहे हो

Tafseer Tinymce

And We are nearer to him than you are, but you cannot see.

और हम उसके ज़्यादा पास हैं तुमसे अगर तुम्हे निगाह नहीं

So why is it not, that if you are not to be repaid, -

तो क्यों न हुआ अगर तुम्हे बदला मिलना नहीं

Tafseer Tinymce

That you bring it back, if you are truthful?

कि उसे लोटा लाते अगर तुम सच्चे हो ۔

Then if the dying one is of those having proximity, -

फिर वो मरने वाला अगर मुक़र्रबों से है

Tafseer Tinymce

Then is relief, and flowers – and Gardens of peace.

तो राहत है और फूल और चैन के बाग़

And if he is of those on the right, -

और अगर दाहनी तरफ वालों से हो

Tafseer Tinymce

Then upon you is the greetings of peace (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), from those on the right.

तो ऐ महबूब तुम पर सलाम है दाहनी तरफ वालों से

And if he is from the deniers, the astray, -

और अगर झुटलाने वालों गुमराहों में से हो

Tafseer Tinymce

Then his reception is the hot boiling water.

तो उसकी महमानी खोलता पानी

Tafseer Tinymce

And a casting into the blazing fire.

और भड़कती आग में धंसाना

This is indeed an utmost certainty.

बेशक आला दर्जे की यक़ीनी बात है

Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest.

तो ऐ महबूब तुम अपने अज़मत वाले रब के नाम की पाकी बोलो

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

अल्लाह के नाम से शुरू जो बहुत मेहरबान रहमत वाला

Tafseer Tinymce

All whatever is in the heavens and in the earth proclaims the Purity of Allah; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Wise.

अल्लाह की पाकी बोलता है जो कुछ आसमानों और ज़मीन में है और वही इज़्ज़त व हिकमत वाला है

For Him only is the kingship of the heavens and the earth; He gives life and causes death; and He is Able to do all things.

और उसी के लिए आसमानों और ज़मीन की सल्तनत जिलाता है और मारता और वो सब कुछ कर सकता है

He only is the First and He only the Last, and He only is the Evident and He only the Concealed; and it is He Who knows all things.

वही अव्वल वही आख़िर वही ज़ाहिर वही बातिन और वही सब कुछ जानता है
