They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.

बोले ऐ लूत अगर तुम बाज़ न आये तो ज़रूर निकाल दिए जाओगे

He said, “I am disgusted with your works.

बोले मैं तुम्हारे काम से बेज़ार हूँ

My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.

ऐ मेरे रब मुझे और मेरे घर वालों को उनके काम से बचा

Tafseer Tinymce

We therefore rescued him and his entire family.

तो हमने उसे और उसके सब घर वालों को निजात बख्शी

Except one old woman, who stayed behind.

मगर एक बुढ़िया कि पीछे रह गई

We then destroyed the others.

फिर हमने दूसरों को हलाक कर दिया

And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned

और हमने उन पर एक बरसाओ बरसाया तो क्या ही बुरा बरसाओ था गयों का

Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims.

बेशक उसमे ज़रूर निशानी है, और उसमे बहुत मुसलमान न थे

And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

बन वालों ने रसूलों को झुटलाया

The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers.

बन वालों ने रसूलों को झुटलाया

Tafseer Tinymce

When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear

जब उनसे शुऐब ने फ़रमाया क्या डरते नहीं

I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.

बेशक मैं तुम्हारे लिए अल्लाह का अमानत दार रसूल हूँ

Tafseer Tinymce

Therefore fear Allah and obey me.

तो अल्लाह से डरो और मेरा हुक्म मानो

Tafseer Tinymce

And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.

और मैं इस पर तुमसे कुछ उजरत नहीं मांगता मेरा अज्र तो उसी पर है जो सारे जहान का रब है

Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.

नाप पूरा करो और घटाने वालो में न हो

Tafseer Tinymce

And weigh with a proper balance.

और सीधी तराज़ू से तोलो

Tafseer Tinymce

And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.

और लोगों की चीज़ें कम करके न दो और ज़मीन में फसाद फैलाते न फिरो

And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.

और उससे डरो जिसने तुमको पैदा किया और अगली मख्लूक़ को

They said, “You are under a magic spell.

बोले तुम पर जादू हुआ है

Tafseer Tinymce

You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.

तुम तो नहीं मगर हम जैसे आदमी और बेशक हम तुम्हे झूठा समझते हैं

Tafseer Tinymce

Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.

तो हम पर आसमान का कोई टुकड़ा गिरादो अगर तुम सच्चे हो

He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.

फ़रमाया मेरा रब खूब जानता है जो तुम्हारे कोतक हैं

Tafseer Tinymce

In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent * seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them).

तो उन्होंने उसे झुटलाया तो उन्हे शामियाने वाले दिन के अज़ाब ने आ लिया, बेशक वो बड़े दिन का अज़ाब था

Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims.

बेशक उसमे ज़रूर निशानी है, और उनमे बहुत मुसलमान न थे

And indeed your Lord - only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.

और बेशक तुम्हारा रब ही इज़्ज़त वाला मेहरबान है

And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation.

और बेशक ये क़ुरआन रब्बुल-आलमीन का उतारा हुआ है

The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.)

इसे रूहुल-अमीन लेकर उतरा

Upon your heart, for you to convey warning.

तुम्हारे दिल पर कि तुम डर सुनाओ
